[Solved] Used 2012 Honda Civic DTC Codes

I have test drove a used 2012 Honda Civic car yesterday. It drove fine and there wasn’t any kind of error lights on the dash board. But upon scanning with a BlueDriver scanner, it gave me the following DTC Codes:

  • 85-1: VSA Signal Failure
  • 21-11: Open or High Resistance In Driver Seat Belt Tensioner
  • 00-DB: 1 Seat Weight Sensor Code (No Description Available)
  • U128D: 1 Multiplex Integrated control unit Code- Lost communication with meter module (VSP/NE frame)
  • U128D: 1 Immobilizer Code- Lost communication with meter module (AT Frame)

It is from a private seller. The seller is claiming that these are old codes and these problems aren’t exists anymore; hench no warning or check engine lights are on. My current vehicle is being a headache and throwing check engine lights almost every three/four months. So, I’m looking into getting a reliable used vehicle that won’t have the same problems.

Do you think the seller was right and it would be ok to buy this vehicle or they are just some expensive fixes that will cost me in the future? Your advice on this matter is truly appreciated.

Between those, the VSA code is more important. Regardless of the codes you got, have a mechanic check the car to make sure about the car health, especially the automatic transmission.
