I know that the 2012 Lexus RX350 with 3.5 V6 generally lasts a long time, but is it actually wise to get one now that it has 12 years of life? especially not knowing how the previous owners took care of it. It had 2 owners,153k miles. It looks great on outside but i dont know how much life its left in it. Another question, i work on my own cars, and if I have to fix this lexus, would it cost a lot? never owned a lexus before. I have only owned VW's for 10 years.
Well those are excellent cars but that is relatively high mileage. I would have a mechanic like me. Check it out before you buy. It's not the age, it's the mileage. I've got a 22-year-old Lexus ES300 but it's only got 90,000 mi on it
Run a carfax on it to see if previous owners did regular oil changes.
@gmcdiy You can't necessarily tell that from Carfax since oil changes and other maintenance items may not be reported to them depending on who did the work. (As far as Carfax is concerned my car has not had an oil change or any other maintenance since 2011 but that's certainly not the case.)
