Used FJ80 Series Land Cruiser

Hi,

I’ve been looking at buying a used land cruiser as a weekend camping rig, and possibly a daily driver.

I’ve found some to buy privately, and a couple from used car lots.

Besides rust on body or frame, and the 4x4 system, anything else I should look for?

any benefits buying from a private seller versus a user car lot?

Should I consider a used Lexus GX470 for more modern capabilities?

Thanks in advance.

I like to go private seller because you are paying for the car dealership when you go and buy from one. These cars are pretty solid so if you get a good look underneath and see no rust and take it for a good test drive and it all checks out than you should be all good.

They can run forever as long as they are properly maintained.

Solid built cars. With inline cites 6 cylinders, they just run and run forever. If you buy from a car lot, you pay 2 to 4 times of what was paid for the car. That’s why it is a good idea to buy from private. Also, the values of these cars are going high.
