Valvoline "Restore and Protect" oil

Well, if you haven't noticed, there is a big marketing campaign going on for a new line of motor oil from Valvoline.  Most of the info out there seems to be from either Valvoline's marketing/PR people or from retailers.  Not much from independent 3rd party reviewers.

If I can read through the advertising lingo, it seems to be synthetic oil with a new detergent package.  I have generally a positive view of Valvoline (they usually retail a bit cheaper than equivalent oils from Mobil1 or Pennzoil), and I am not trying to prompt any negativity.  Just want to know if anyone has any chemical engineering details on it (or first hand experience, though it is new enough that I doubt anyone has more than just initial impressions).

FWIW, I would consider it in lieu of an engine flush on my junker '95 Miata project car.

I don't think it's new.

There's a thread about it on the bobistheoilguy forum from 2020: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/another-oil-from-valvoline.373185/

2019: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/valvoline-premium-restore-question.310590/

Before that , the "next generation" of Valvoline oil was the "Premium Blue Restore Gen 2"

in 2003 , it was Valvoline "MaxLife Engine Protector"

Before that, it was hype like : "Extended Protection High Mileage With Ultra MaxLife Technology"

So they got "max" and "ultra" in there. The only buzzwords that are missing are "nano" with a smidge of "turbo" thrown in. Soon to come: "quantum"

As you say they're just marketing campaigns.
Intended to excite all the oil nuts out there.
Never ending 🙄
