Scotty this may be a bit a an unusual question for you.
Car: volkswagen polo 3-cylinder 1.0 petrol comfortline from 2015.
Hi Scotty, I am from Belgium and I don't think this car model has been sold or produced in the usa. It has 75hp and is not turbocharged. I bought it new from the dealer and I have it now for 6 years. I have now 88000 km on it or 55000 miles. I am not a wealthy person so it was a not to exspensive car to invest in. Since I cann't afford to buy any other car soon in the future, I would like to own this car for a long time. Did I make a good choice back in the day if I give it regular service? And nobody seems to be able to tell me about if it has a timing belt or chain and if it has a service interval on it. According to the dealer there is no service interval on the timing belt-chain, but they do advice to change it after 10 years.
P.S. I am a great enthousiast of youre channel.
Well, the good thing is that it isn’t turbo charged.
Seems like it’s got a timing belt, but what does your owner’s manual say regarding its replacement/inspection interval?

It is a good thing. A few years ago I liked the idea of another car with a small engine but with a turbo for more power. It is zippy enough for normal driving but everybody else seems to floor it at the lights and I am always overtaken. I learned a lot since then and now dislike turbo's for various and obvious reasons. It is a verry feul efficient litlle car and that is how I drive it so if I am going to drive it for many years I have to take good care for it. I am always verry carefull about the engine. I don't floor it untill the engine is at about 90 Celcius and always disable the start stop system.
Keep up with scheduled maintenance & oil changes. With your relatively low running, the engine (& car) may last a really long time. But as with most VW’s, expect some electronic niggles as the car starts to age.
