[Solved] VW central locking problem

Hi,

I want to sell my VW Touran 2007, but I wanted first to fix a couple of things the car has.

1. When I unlock the doors with my keyfob, the copilot car can't be open, the key doesn't unlock it. When I try to unlock all doors manually introducing the key in the pilot's lock, all doors are unlocked but the copilot's. To be able to open the copilot's door, I need to first open it manually from the interior one time. Only then, I can open and close it from the outside without problems. When I lock the doors, the copilot door does lock!
It's receiving the signal as it does lock the door, any idea of why it would not unlock it? It doesn't seem to be a mechanical problem, because once it's opened once from the inside, it can be opened from the outside without problems.

2. The handle to open the trunk doesn't work, that's something that had malfunctioned every once and then for the last 25K miles, now I can't open the trunk from the outside anymore, just from the inside.

The problems 1 are 2 are not correlated, what they have in common is that they're VW components 😆

Any good video you know on how to repair those problems?

Thanks!

In case someone had the same problem: the trunk locking problem was solved <30€ (amazon parts). I first replaced the handle thinking that it was a spring and rubber problem. It was not, it was a locker problem. I replaced it and now it works like a charm. It just makes a noise slightly different when opening and closing.

Well your actuator on the broken side isn't working right. We'd have to replace that. It's not cheap. And you probably need a new handle on the back because the plastic crap and usually the little nub inside breaks off and then it won't open from outside

Thank you Scotty!

Small edit, I just tested again the car, and only the driver's door gets unlocked when I manually introduce the key in the driver's lock. However, when I "unlock all doors" with a unlock/lock button from the inside, doors do get unlocked and locked. Except for the copilot's.

The keyfob now doesn't open either now the driver's door, I can only open that one manually introducing the key.

Yes Scotty, you're right. The rubber used for the trunk is crap.
