Hey everyone! I was listening to an old episode of car talk ( https://www.npr.org/2022/04/22/1094275460/-2233-to-wash-or-not-to-wash), and in the show a couple is calling (audio starts at 1:42-7:28) asking about when is the best time to wash a car during the winter. The boyfriend says that it is best to wash the undercarriage at least once every week or two to get the salt off of the undercarriage; however, one of the brothers says no, because the salt is covered in ice there is no oxidation going on, but when the ice melts, i.e. temps go above 32 that's when you need to wash the undercarriage. So my question is in the dead of winter up north how often should you wash your car or at least the undercarriage.
there is no one size fits all answer. As often as you feel is necessary. For me, that's once at the end of winter. Maybe twice if conditions are bad.
