Lights dim, battery discharging

I have a 1995 BMW 525i automatic. I went to turn my car on after work and it was completely dead. No dash lights or interior lights. As if it didn't have a battery installed. I tested the battery and it was at 10.8 v which is low so I went to exchange it for a new one under warranty. I installed the new battery and I had some power but all the dash and lights were very very dim. Where is the first place I should look for in regards to figuring out this issue? My battery posts and cables are clean and corrosion free so it isn't a bad battery connection.

Check your grounds, particularly the ground strap between engine and chassis. If your alternator is mounted in rubber bushings make sure it has a good ground as well.

have the alternator tested.

Check all fuses and relays.
