In Alaska. Preferably from wasilla to ANC. I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu that has stalled twice or limp mode since I bought it in September. I drive and goes limp mode (rpms go down and cannot accelerate when driving). We have already replaced spark plugs once/first time. It is not battery either.
Don't buy a Kia. The ISG shuts off the engine and heater blower when the car is standing like at a traffic light to save gas. Nobody who lives north of the gulf coast states like Texas should buy one. In addition the AC shuts off in hot weather but at least you won't freeze to death.
Just don't tell my wife. {black}
Get yourself a Toyota or Honda and you will be happy.
I'd recommend the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, Lexus ES, Mazda 6...

What is your budget? New or used? Since you are in Alaska, do you want/need AWD or an SUV? The more specific the better.
Good luck!
Accord, Camry, Legacy, Mazda 6.
You will be racking up the miles quick so you need a vehicle that can hold up with minimal issues well past 100,000 miles. For that, I would definitely recommend a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord with a strong tilt toward the Toyota Camry (it has a naturally aspirated engine with port/direct injection and not susceptible to carbon buildup or oil dilution that the Accord - which is only offered with turbo charged GDI engines - could exhibit).
AWD is available on the newer Camry’s if you absolutely need that.
Have you scanned for codes, in your Malibu?
It said fuel injectors and we changed those and it has rough idle now. Some smoke coming from back of engine sometimes.
Ok if it’s already smoking, sounds like it’s your head gasket.. Yeah, I’d go with the others & recommend you only stick to Toyota & Honda, for reliable low first transportation.
You didn’t mention budget, so hard to say what is best. I assume you have to account for foul weather and bad roads/potholes. If you like 2 wheel, I might look at corolla hatch or C-HR. If you might want AWD, I’d look for a Crosstrek (manual, if you’re worried about that many miles on a Subaru CVT).
