Hey Scotty big fan of your videos. I want to be able to tow a 25-foot camper trailer but still daily drive my truck. Right now I am leaning towards the diesel F-250 or a heavy duty gm truck. What do you think I should get?

You don't necessarily need a diesel, but get a 3/4 at least. 1 ton is a bonus. Diesels end up costing more upfront and cost more to maintain. Hold their value better and last longer. Get better mileage while towing especially.

The 6.7 Cummins the the vest diesel made right now with the 6.7 Powerstroke coming in at close 2nd.

I don’t mess with GM

Cummins downfall is everything wrapped around the motor is garbage so as long as you have money set aside for repairs and replacement it is what it is.

Downfall to the Powerstroke, 10 speed transmission is hit or miss. And if you get a bad one Fords going to fight you till the end for repair or replacement.

Me personally I’d gamble with the Ram. I will say I’d buy the lowest trim package possible in either truck. American manufacturers philosophy is build cheap and sell high with no sense of accountability or doing right by the customer. So having less of the fancy stuff the better generally speaking.

Diesel f250 but buy a good one not an old worn out one with a ton of mileage

If you are towing something large, the highest towing capacity from any heavy duty pickup is the 2021 RAM 3500 with a towing capacity of 37,100 lbs.

That being said Cummins engines can run forever, so try and go for a used one.

I agree Cummins in a RAM are great! Hell my Semi has a Cummins and is great me personally I like the RAM for towing but for anything and everything else that is new on the market today I would go with Ford. But I drive a 93 chevy and I love it over a 90s ford any day.
