Essays of the F-150 have been written on this forum but I'm going to keep it simple: DO NOT buy a newer F-150 and DEFINITELY buy the Tacoma over it for your own sanity.

Get the 2020 4x4 Taco....Wouldn't ever consider any newer F-150
Definitely go with the Toyota Tacoma for longevity. Just do a search in this forum to see the issues. Also the 10-speed AT has had issues and part of a class action lawsuit. See below regarding the Ford F-150:
