What is wrong with my car, transmission or wheels?

Hey Scotty, I have been having some issues with my car lately and have taken it back and forth from Ford to Belle Tire multiple times. I drive a 2016 Ford Fusion SE (Automatic Transmission) with ~89,000 miles. My car seems to “jerk” when shifting gears, most noticeable at slower speeds and acceleration seems to be slow. Ford told me that my wheels were “out of round” and I needed to go back to Belle Tire to fix them (purchased April 2022). Belle tire told me today (9/29/22) that my wheels were perfect and that my transmission is flaring when shifting. What does that mean and how does it differ from transmission slipping? They also suggested going to get my transmission reprogrammed, do you think that would help solve the issue. My car has turned into a money pit and I don’t want to keep pouring money into it if no one can fix it.

forgot to mention, but I had the Throttle Body and my shudder control module replaced to attempt to fix the issue, they did not help.

“out of round”

Oh its the transmission, those aren't really the symptoms of out of round wheels/ out of balanced wheels.

Good God, that dealer belongs in the Hall of Shame (we should start one here).

that would be a very long hallway

The dealer is putting you through the grease.  Lose them as a source of anything, including the time of day.

my transmission is flaring when shifting. What does that mean and how does it differ from transmission slipping

"By definition, a flare on a shift is when the releasing friction and applying friction elements are both off (or not holding) for a brief moment. This can be caused by excessive torque, inadequate pressure applying the friction elements, or damage to the friction element or surface it holds when applied." - gearsmagazine

Ive never heard of flaring so I copy & pasted that definition.

Transmission slip refers to when the rpms of the engine go up alot more then the car accelerates. Realize that transmissions work off friction, the friction is what makes you go.

It seems like slip occurs while in a gear, flares seem to happen in between gears.
