[Solved] What should I do about the whirring sound from the rear wheels of my 2008 Lexus GS 350?

Hi there! I'm a huge fan of your channel and I really appreciate the advice you give. So, recently, I took my car, which is a 2008 Lexus GS 350 RWD, to the mechanic to replace the TPMS on all 4 tires. After that, I noticed that there is a whirring sound that becomes really noticeable when I go at about 60 MPH that I can hear from inside my car. The sound definitely seems to be coming from the rear wheels of the car. What could be the cause of this?

P.S. - it is most definitely not the sound of my tires, as this sound specifically comes from the back wheels of the car and is only noticeable when the car is moving.

Your wheel bearing/s are on their way out. You haven’t mentioned the mileage, but at 12 yrs, they may probably have started to hum.

The car currently has 84K miles on it, but okay, sounds good, I'll check it out. Thanks!

That’s quite low mileage. Do you drive through deep water/slush often?

Nope I do not. However, the mechanic I went to to get the TPMS fixed told me that my struts were worn, so maybe that would have something to do with it?

Do you hear the noise when you go lower than 60 mph?

Check out your brakes too.

my rear brake pads were replaced just a couple months ago, so I don't think theyre the issue. Yeah, I hear once the car starts moving but its the loudest at 60 mph. But yeah, I'll check the wheel bearings, they're most likely the culprit

Yes, check the wheel baring, but before that, make sure that you use good quality brake pads.
