- Hey Scotty, I wanted to get your insight on car options. Currently I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS ,huge mistake. I've put more money in the car then what it was worth. I bought the car for $8,000 with 76k miles. Put $2,500 with in the first 3-4 months of owning it and totalling around $9,000 in repairs after 2.5 years of owning it. Currently I have 108k miles on the car. Recently I've been looking for a used car, I love the way my car drives but I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg reparing it again. When something goes wronge...again because it never fails to do so. Like you, I feel like I'm quite cheap while buying one so I'm trying to spend less then 10k. Im looking for something that's not too sluggish, that I can work on myself if there is any problems down the road, with cheaper car parts. What are some sedans, hatchbacks, or coupes, to look out for.
- I've been looking for toyota's mainly because of your videos on them, but up here in VA it's hard to find anything around that price range without it having heavy miles.
- How do you feel about hyundai/kia sonata, elantra gt, and forte 5. I know on one of your videos you weren't super impressed, but you said it wasn't bad for the price. Are there any years that are better then others?
- I keep finding mazda3's, jetta's, GTI's, Legacy's, and Impreza's around that price range. The years vary from 2008-2014. Are they any good? I know the volkswagen has problems with the timing belt and carbon build up, is it as bad as people say?
- Thanks for the help in advance. The list is long enough for several videos {black}:laughingoutloud:

Forget about the Hyundai/Kias. They fall apart before 100k miles and tend to catch on fire:

I would keep on looking at Corollas, Camrys, Civics, Matrixes, Fits... Whatever you find. Check out the used car buying links below for more info.
I would only consider Mazdas from 2014-2017, Subarus have weak CVT transmissions, and forget about Volkswagens.
