First of all, hello to all you there, whats up ... it is old toyota rav4 2004 1CD-FTV engine, it has this issue more than a year from now, i finaly want to get rid of it, cuz everytime i start the hearter i have to open my windows so i can let all the diry smoke goes away before i start to like it - nice and warm ... please help me 😀 Thanks
Try starting the car with the heat in recirculating and see if it still does it . That’ll eliminate the engine as the culprit
Do you know the source of the smoke? Is it an exhaust leak making it into the cabin? Is it a leaking fluid burning off after dripping onto the engine? I know it's a simplistic answer, but you have to find and eliminate the source of the smoke...
it just happens when i start the heater and its all gone, no smoke at all after that ... smells more like dust - maybe the vent is rusty huh ?
Have you replaced the cabin air filter?
yes, i think it could be the dust in the vents, i will try to find the way to clean it ... when i buy this car it was not driven for like a year or so ... make sense
Does it smell like antifreeze? If so your heater core is probably leaking.
Could be shorting wiring in the fan/resistor wiring system. If it actually is smoke as you said,smoke comes from something burning.
