Which new vehicle should I buy?

Hello Scotty,

Thank you in advance for answering my question.

A few weeks ago, my vehicle broke down. It ended up being the engine and the recommended solution was a new engine. It was a 2017 hyundai sonata sport. I ended up getting a little over 232,000 miles on it. I did by this car new, but I have driven certified pre owned vehicles in the past.

I don't think I want another hyundai, but I am considering the tusan along with other brands.

Brand wise I am leaning towards Toyota and Subaru.I am open to almost any brand. I drive alot and I drive long distances. I am looking for something to hold up. I am thinking about either a SUV (most likely a small SUV) or truck because of space.

I am asking what vehicle (year range make and model) would you recommend I purchase?

Also, could you give me a top 3 or top 5 of vehicles you woild purchase?

Looking for some guidance and recommendations to buying another vehicle.

Thank you in advance

IF you want your car to hold up a Toyota is a good option.

A Toyota RAV4 or Highlander would do this trick well

Check out the question “What. Does Scotty. Think of this vehicle?” In the FAQ.

This kind of question is asked a lot here, so you may want to use the site search function. Also see "Vehicles Reviewed By Scotty".

From the standpoints of reliability and longevity there are no really good new cars any more. All of them are overpriced and loaded with questionable technology that will cost a fortune to repair out of warranty. Even Toyota is having quality problems, however Toyota is still generally considered the best of a bad lot. Hyundai/Kia products are the worst and should be avoided. (Scotty himself recently purchased a new Toyota Camry.)
