To this day, I still don't understand why we are forced to have these even though they get stolen and sold to other countries. Personally, I think it's stupid and also a big waste of minerals just for the catalytic converters and gets stolen after a while. I want to know what you all think about this.

You have YOUR elected officials to thank for this and other similar situations. If you don't like the way things are, elect someone who will change them.

It is for emissions, that is why we have them.
Look up the smog issues from the '70's and you'll see why.
