I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima with 110,000 miles on it. It's an automatic. I am the second owner of the vehicle.
I woke up the other morning and started my 2003 Nissan Maxima as I normally do and I noticed there is some vibration from the motor and it is acting as if it doesn't want to stay running. It is dropping the rpm's, but it never dies. I was able to continue warming it up, and drove it. Putting it in gear, such as reverse and drive it hesitates the most. Now once I am driving it is fine until I come to a stop at a red light or a stop sign and I have to wait my turn. It starts the process all over again as if it's going to shut off. If I put it in neutral while I'm idling at a light or stop sign, it's OK and then when it's my turn I put it in drive and it will go. When pushing on the gas pedal through this whole process it will hesitate too, but then will go. Could you please help me out on what all of sudden has caused this and what could be wrong with my car? Thank you
Start with load testing the battery and alternator. Also, look for vacuum leak. Clean the IAC valve.
Start with getting it scanned if it’s shaking and rom dropping you could very well have a misfire concern and you would be looking at probably plugs and coils
What they said, also... Clean the throttle plate and MAF, make sure your air filter is clean.
