Will a long soak in laundry detergent also work for cleaning O2 sensors?

Hi Scotty

I spotted your youtube video about being able to clean a catalytic converter by soaking it overnight in a bucket of water and laundry detergent and it worked great on my wife's car. The catalytic converter was so blocked that the engine was no longer able to run and now it is lovely and clean. Thanks very much. My question is, would this technique also work for cleaning O2 sensors? I will only submerge the tip overnight of course. On VW Golf's like mine, the O2 sensors typically only last about 50k miles but cost £150 and so it would be great if there was a way to clean them.

Best wishes
