I have a 2018 Dodge Journey with just a little over 55,000 miles on it. I’m the second owner of this vehicle and ever since I purchased this vehicle from a very well known used car dealership I just can’t figure something out and was wondering if you can help me out because your very knowledgeable about a lot of things. It came with a very good warranty and everything pretty much powertrain and everything. Well, one i feel like I should be getting just a bit better gas mileage on it because I’ve tried everything to maintain it. I understand it’s a 4 cylinder and not much power to it but it seems like I just can’t get up and go when needed and really have to step on the gas to get it to go a lot which in turn uses more gas. Well, every time I’m letting OFF the accelerator pedal it does like a jerky shake type of thing. Hard to explain the sensation. I do understand that you need to replace the gas pedals on some vehicles even mine. It’s a nice vehicle and I’m just trying my hardest to keep it going and I have even been upgrading it a little at a time to improve performance and looks lol, I know you can’t do much on a 4 banger lol. I just like it and wanted to know if you had any ideas? Please help me figure this out so when I need the power it’s there when I need it for speeding up onto the highway and going around people and taking off from a stop to be smooth.

Start with cleaning the throttle body.
So maybe go to Autozone or store to get spray? Is there a specific spray I need to spray into it? Do I do it while running? So there aren’t any codes or any lights on… I forgot to mention that before. That’s why nobody could figure it out.

how many miles to the gallon are you getting?
really have to step on the gas to get it to go ... every time I’m letting OFF the accelerator pedal it does like a jerky shake
I would get it to a mechanic so he can hook it up to a scanner to get some diagnostic data. It's the quickest way to see what's wrong.
