It doesn't matter.

The cheapest oil that meets the specs in the book.

Whatever the manual says, those Ecoboost love synthetic and I’d change every 3k mi to keep the turbos happy. That Castrol edge is a great oil.

Fram Tough Guard filters are as good as any other.  Your wasting your money with Mobile 1 Synthetic.  You're just paying for a name and advertising hype.  Any full synthetic that fulfills the requirements of the manufacturer are just fine.

I use Mobil 1 exclusively, but that's my choice. You can use whatever brand you want. The viscosity is what is important and you want so stick to what the manufacturer recommends.

Castrol, Pennzoil, Kendall, Valvoline....all good oils. Most guys buy what is on sale. I buy Mobil 1 at wholesale prices for my dealership so for me it makes sense to use what I have. I used Valvoline for a long time when I was younger and never had an issue.

As long as it meets the latest ratings and your changing every 3-5k any manufacturer should be fine. On the filter, past studys showed WIX the best but then again with nice frequent/steady quality oil changes most all filters should be fine. I have used them all over the past 40 years and never had any issues.

I have a toyota tundra that is 22 years old I've owned since new. I only use mobil 1 full synthetic and change every 5000 miles. It has 250k miles. Doesn't burn oil. Runs like new. I will never use any oil but Mobil 1. I use toyota filters. Fram is crap. Mobil 1 makes a good filter or napa gold.

Napa filters are made by Wix.

All the top car manufacturers like Toyota lexus have their oil manufacturered by mobil 1. I buy mobil 1 at wal mart. It's cheaper there. I still wouldn't put a Fram filter on any car I own. Look at them cut open in the YouTube videos. Fram is the worst. I'd say a car that is 22 years old with compression like a new car and only used mobil 1 oil is proof it's a better product. I've only used it in the transmission and differential too. That's all the proof I need.

I have had a different experience. All my vehicles I have owned have all gone near or past 300,000 miles and I have used cheap full synthetic oil. I usually use the costco kirkland brand full synthetic 5w-30 oil or Havoline Pro DS Full synthetic. Except in my mercedes I do run mobil 1 5w-40 in that. I have used Mobil 1 too and it's good oil but only if I find it on sale. I have a trailblazer that is approaching 300,000 right now and has run full synthetic wal mart oil or costco oil since I bought it when it had 70,000 miles on it. Does not leak any oil or burn any oil and since oil burning is a sign of engine wear I would assume its not worn out yet. I usually use vavoline for the differential and transmission.
