Scotty, I'd like your honest opinion about my situation. The first of the year I bought a used 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK 350. This is before I started watching all your great videos on YouTube. The car had 86,000 miles on it at time of purchase. I'm retired now so I only use the vehicle two or three days per week with a weekly mileage of 60 to 100 miles. The car was in excellent condition, both inside and out, when I bought it. It's ran great with no codes or problems that I know about. My research, however, shows that the engine (V6) is lucky to last for 100,000 miles. I do know about the cost of parts for this car and to try to avoid any potential problems in the future I purchased a policy from "Car Shield" to cover the cost of any major repairs. What do you think of my situation Scotty? Should I keep this car or get rid of it as soon as possible?
I'm afraid that "Car Shield" is not the greatest company to be doing business with.

I would sell that thing while it's still running OK and you can still get a decent buck for it.
I would get rid of it. Unfortunately, most of the times warranties provided by a third party are just a joke and being a Mercedes, you expect to spend a fortune on parts and repairs.

I guess it depends on your maintenance budget (now that you have retired) and how reliable your other cars are. Could be reasonable to keep it, given that you have a backup vehicle. I’m sure it’s a fun, good looking car.
But it will never be worth more than it is now; as it ages and starts to need repairs (and as the used car market corrects, which I think it may be doing despite overall inflation) it could depreciate seriously.
If you let it go, I doubt you’ll regret it.
