Hey guys! What do you think about the 2006-2010 honda civic hybrid models. I wonder how many miles they can last. Is it expensive to repair or change their hybrid battery. Do you think they have good transmission. Can you please share some information, experiences regarding these cars with me? Thank you.

It's not a good idea to buy any 14-18 year-old hybrid due to high probability of needing expensive repairs.

In theory, a Civic Hybrid from that generation could still work even if the hybrid battery went out.

Transmission is a CVT, to my knowledge. Most CVT’s from other brands seem to be bad, but Honda and Toyota has some decent ones, assuming they have maintained.

Hybrid Battery would be $1000-$2000 to replace, depending on where you get it.

I am not confident enough to give a recommendation on buying it. A regular civic maybe yes. But a hybrid civic that old, I’m not so sure about.

Thank you so much for the good compheransive answer Smile

The car you're considering is a minimum 14 years old. If it's still on the original battery, it could go out at practically any time. They're not like standard batteries that you can replace in 10 minutes, I'm pretty sure it requires an electrician and a mechanic to replace, which will be quite expensive. As others have mentioned, that's an easy $1000-$2000 job. It's best to buy a newer one, if you want a Civic, or really any hybrid car. With added complexity comes increased maintenance, including breakdowns.

tHANK YOU SO MUCH
