| RE: Engine pounding noise from Lexus GX460 | 12Relevance | 5 years ago | AngLi | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Yes. I did, they said they could not replicate the problem. Today I caught the sound so I figured to upload to this community to see what’s the problem is if any before I go back to dealer again, obviously the dealer just pushing and don’t want to solve the problem. | |||||

| You already made a previous topic & you were advised to take it to the dealer. You have a brand new car. This is a warranty issue & will not cost you any money. So have you taken the car to the dealer, and if not, why haven't you? | |||||

| What is your goal with either vehicle? Do you plan on keeping the car for a long time? If so, go with the Lexus; just know Lexus parts and labor can be more expensive than Toyota’s, esp. high mileage Lexus when they finally do break. | |||||

| If have t have the Charger lease it for three years, don’t put very many miles on it. Just so you can say you had a new Charger for three years. If I where you, I would buy a good Toyota SUV for say $30,000. Then get a good quality used Mustang, Subaru WRX, Mazda MX-5 or whatever performance car you desire as a weekend toy | |||||

| If you are a young man and like to go fast, get the Charger. You will probably end up sorry you paid all that money for it but you will have had a good time. | |||||

| Throw away the coin! Unless both sides of the coin tell you to buy the Lexus! Like you said, they’re different vehicles, so think wisely about what your requirements are. Good luck! P.S. warranty is just like putting lipstick on a pig when it comes to FCA products. No amount of warranty can hide the poor build quality & reliability of FCA. | |||||

| They are solid vehicles, although they have some issues: They are gas hogs and repair costs for these V8 Lexus cars are astronomical. If you do no mind these two, they can be excellent cars, but before putting down any money, find a trustworthy mechanic to check this car completely. | |||||

| That Lexus $ can buy a decent Toyota 4Runner, cheaper to repair, more capable for off road. Their chassis are similar, at least they can use same floor mats / floor liners. GX 460 V8 drinks premium gas. Toyota highlander is unibody SUV, not same as gx and 4Runner that type of body on frame vehicles. | |||||

| They are extremely reliable but the V8's will cost more to repair and are less durable after 150k miles than 6 cylinder lexus's. The highlander would outlast that thing but it is also a very nice option. | |||||

| Honestly, that’s shocking! But I hope it was just a manufacturing defect with a certain batch. Please do let us know if you suffer the same failure on the new parts. If the remaining studs were from the saw batch, they may suffer similar failures too, just keep that in mind. | |||||

| Too close to call! I'd drive them and see which you liked better. The 460 should get you a bit better mileage and the 570 should have more power/tow/hauling along with a tad more room. | |||||
