| The '69 charger is a rare car thanks to many of them being busted up during the filming of The Dukes of Hazzard. The original, not the sugar-free remake. They are great cars to drive, but parts for them are pricey indeed and the values aren't as high as you may think. You can get a good driver for about $30k. Obviously, mint condition and celebrity cars go for six figures, but you don't have to spend a ton to acquire a run of the mill example IF you can find one. They are super prone to rust. If you have one, I'd just hold onto it as they are fun cars and you don't see many of them around. Just know that it is ok to drive as it isn't going to be super collectible. | |||||

| Generally speaking, the 1985 charger was not a desirable car. I fully understand the sentimental aspect of wanting to tinker with it, don't get me wrong. As you mentioned though, parts are hard to come by and some pieces are not cheap. They aren't really something you can source from a junkyard locally. It would be a lot of Ebay, etc. to find what you need and it could cost more than you would think. If I were you, I'd research my parts list just to see what the cost looks like before starting in on it. As I said, please understand I'm NOT knocking your desire to build it back up. But sometimes the off the wall cars like that wind up being cost prohibitive once the math is done. And hey, if not, then at least you know what to budget for. | |||||

| Yes, I leave my ac on when I get out so if I want to I can remote start it at work while I finish up and get inside a cold car rather then a car that’s 100-110 inside I had a 392 challenger and I have never seen this out of any charger or challenger I’ve owned | |||||

| Lease it at most. I had a 2019 charger R/T and sold it less than 8 months later. Bought it new and had some weatherstripping issues 3 months in. Also some rattles starting to develop. Traded it for my 2020 Accord 2.0T and couldn't be happier. | |||||

| No, not really. Aside from the rest of the powertrain, you still have the electronics which tend to act up over time. The overall quality is still not there, especially long term. It someone wants a charger they are better of leasing under warranty and returning before the warranty expires. At least with this current generation, I don’t see this assessment changing. Now with Stellantis and the dismantle of the SRT team, the future for them doesn’t look good. | |||||

| Personally, I'd take that orange 1969 charger with the vinyl top. They may not be quite as fast but they are 10x cooler and 10x more reliable. | |||||

| I bought a brand new 2019 charger R/T. I miss the power, no lie. But the build quality was subpar, the weatherstripping had to be repaired in the first 3 months, and it drank fuel like no other....and required at least mid grade gas. Spacious, powerful, and poorly built. Not to mention constantly used by the lower rungs of society when committing crimes, so a complete cop magnet. Insurance was sky high as well. | |||||

| I have a 2007 charger R/T Daytona with the 5.7 HEMI, 165,011 miles. I was cruising in town when I heard a loud pop sound from the front of the car, then began to smell coolant burning. I pulled over popped the hood and noticed coolant puking from the bottom of the radiator, i checked all the radiator hoses and everything was dry. Only leak is from bottom of the radiator, did my radiator happen to blow a hole in the bottom of it? Asking before i go buy a new radiator, Have not been able to look at it as i have been too busy to check it out myself. Thanks for reading 🙂 | |||||

| I believe the 6.4 in that charger has the filter inside of the fuel tank. Don't quote me on that. | |||||

| Check your battery terminals and cables. I had a charger that did. Tech before me replaced the alternator (did not properly diagnose it) and when it came to me, I found the ground cable from the battery was loose where it bolted up to the frame. | |||||

| EFI stands for electronic fuel injection. The preceding technology would be a carburetor. So it would be EFI vs Carburetor. Natural Aspiration is about air. The alternative to Natural Aspiration is forced induction, either with a turbo charger or super charger. If you wanted to get it more like a 76 dodge, you would need to de-convert the EFI to a carburetor. I’m not so sure that is a simple feat, and probably not cost effective nor efficient, with little gain or even a loss of performance. | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I have a 2016 dodge charger 392 that I only drive on the weekends. It has about 10,000 miles on it. Recently, the car sits for about 3-4 weeks and when I go to start it the battery is dead. Is this normal or do I have another problem? I got a NOCO battery charger and maintainer so I'm waiting for it to charge as I type this - maybe I should just leave it on there? Please advise. | |||||
