| 2008 focus 2.0l 4cy, Auto trans, no codes. 165,000 while driving one day, I went to reverse out of a spot, and it wouldn't engage/ go into reverse gear. all other gears work perfect, and there was no grinding nor sounds of any kind. now sometimes it will go into reverse and sometimes it won't. another thing I noticed is it will never engage in reverse when car is cold, sometimes it will once car has been driven and warmed up. any help is appreciated. thanks! | |||||

| Hello Scotty, Thank you for your videos and knowledge.. I currently owe 3k on my 2015 ford focus SE with 235,000k miles on it. My ford keeps saying that the transmission keeps overheating after a 7 mins of driving it and I keep hearing these clicks in the engine area even after it’s been shut down.. Should I take it to the dealer or should I just sell it as is? | |||||
| Only 1 key fob at a time time will work. Working on a 2010 ford focus, base model | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Neil Ware | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Working on a 2010 ford focus ,base model. I have 3 ignition keys that all will start the car. When I program one of the accompanying fobs to the vehicle, that fob will now lock and unlock the doors. But, it seems that when I program a fob, the last 2 fobs will no longer work. I have done this with each fob, but, the current fob is the only one that retains programming to the vehicle. Any ideas ??? | |||||

| ... to a junkyard, find a gearbox from a similar focus with the same engine (hopefully with low millage) - buy it (can't be too expensive, it's a manual out of a 13 year old economy car), buy a new clutch and consider also replacing other components, install it, and replace the transmission fluid (all and all, should be around $1,000) | |||||

| Hello Scotty! I have a manual 2010 Ford focus Mk2 facelift with 130k km (80,000 miles) that i bought second hand 6 months ago. I’m guessing the low milage was due to it all being city driving because the gearbox gives me all sorts of problems. 1st gear always grinds, even when car is at a standstill, unless i put it in 2nd and then change to first. Also sometimes the second gear jumps out to neutral. I was thinking maybe the synchros for 1st and 2nd are broken. What do you think is the problem with it and if so, how much would it cost to repair? (I live wher ... | |||||

| I've worked in 4 Ford focus that had this issue. 1 of them had a bad idle air control valve, 1 had a alternator that was bad ( voltage regulator) 2. had bad battery. Im not sure if evap is the problem or if it can cause that. I've also read a lot of people had this issue and it was either the battery, alternator or idle air control valve. From experience I would start there | |||||

| 2013 Ford focus SE, automatic, 2.0 flex fuel,137,000 miles. Last week, the vehicle shut off on me when I was in the Drive-Thru line after about 35 minutes of driving. Car acted as if it was dead and I noticed the cells in the battery were low. Replaced electrolytes and the car started up. The shut off continue to happen a couple of times infrequently the next couple days and finally showed the code p2610. The code went away on its own so I figured this may have been in relation to having the battery disconnected or a potential electrical problem. Sometimes I ... | |||||

| 2009 focus..wrench icon comes on after like 10 minutes of running. Just did oil change..and this just started at 119k miles. It seems to run just fine and at auto zone it never threw any codes. Clearly not a mechanic here. Hoping for some ideas. Thanx. {black}:idontknow: | |||||
| 2012 Ford Focus Standard Transmission: Do i need to change the timing chain or the coolant? | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Mr Matt | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty, My focus is going on 160,000 miles. It has never had a problem, and has been driven mostly on the highway. I change the oil every 5000 miles, but I have not changed anything else besides tires and wipers. I still have the original clutch, and it is not slipping. Am I hurting my car by not doing more maintenance? It still gets 40 miles per gallon on the highway. | |||||
