| Transmission (...) 2010 dodge challenger That's probably a 5 speed Daimler-Benz 5G-Tronic. Welp, did you have the battery light back then? You need a pro-level scan tool to see why the transmission has gone into "limp mode". Note that these Daimler-Benz 722.6 often can have minor mechanical and/or electrical faults - but again, a pro-level all systems scanner (see our scan tool guide for information on scan tools) will allow you see if such a fault has occurred. | In our historical car club we are experiencing a problem with a 1969 Dodge challenger, 5.2 V8, manual transmission. Is there anybody here who could help? The car shudders forward when in 4th gear, RPMs go higher, too. It loses power in 4th gear. When we use it as a 3-speed no issues but when 4th gear is engaged, the challenger is asking for a downshift because the engine is rattling. Any input is appreciated, thanks. | |||||

| Yes, I leave my ac on when I get out so if I want to I can remote start it at work while I finish up and get inside a cold car rather then a car that’s 100-110 inside I had a 392 challenger and I have never seen this out of any charger or challenger I’ve owned | |||||

| How many miles are on the challenger? I'd keep the challenger for the styling. The Taurus was never a great car and it's also discontinued. | |||||

| I am a little biased. And this comment has no basis on the actual cars side by side, but rather the companies that represent them. My preference would be Mustang > Camaro > challenger, i.e. Ford > GM > Fiat/Chrysler. It seems to me Ford puts emphasis on two of their models. The Mustang and the F150. Those two things define Ford in the contemporary era, IMHO. (And I guess you can add the Bronco to the list, we will see.). Heck they are even using the Mustang name for their electric vehicle. | Hello, I have searched tons of forums and videos and nothing is helping. I have a 2019 challenger SXT, 3.6L with approx. 94k miles. I had a bad thermostat code and overheat light when I left my house one day. I pulled over immediately and let it cool, then drove it home after about 10 minutes (about 2 miles). I decided to upgrade the radiator and replace the main components as well. I had Pepboys replace radiator (all aluminum), water pump, thermostat (Dorman aluminum upgrade), and hoses.
