| See below: I would avoid it. The edge Sport has the 3.7L Duratec V6 which (along with the 3.5L Duratec V6 available on other trims) is reason alone to pass on it. | |||||

| This has been asked, many, many, many, times. So please read through the previous responses: In short, the 4 cylinder EcoBoosts are bad engines, but the V6 engines are downright horrible. Not exaggerating. The stupid water pump is driven by a timing chain?? You would be taking the whole engine out so labor also gets expensive. When it goes out, thats a multi thousand dollar job, at 8 10 years of age people have to junk their cars because of the water pump. | |||||
| Should I buy a Ford Edge | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | acefighter | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Would you consider a 2018 ford edge a reliable SUV? A family member of mine test drove one and liked the ride and look of it. Would it last at least 150,000 miles without any major problems? The edge has around 36000 miles on it and is the 6 cylinder. If I recall I heard the 2.0L EcoBoost has a history of problems. | |||||
| Answer to: 2011 Ford Edge and 2001 Honda Accord | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | goldengears | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I'd say you should stick with the ford if you can. The 2001 accord won't last long due to it's old age. You will also be missing out on many modern features tat the edge has to offer. You should probably just get it reprogrammed because it will cost less, and the edge is a better car. | |||||

( the radio will turn on sometimes even when the ignition is turned off. Has anyone every experienced this with their 2008 edge? | |||||

| @rkbussell eh not really, ford complete focus and time invested is on their trucks cause that’s where the money is for them. The escapes and explorers and stuff is a side gig for them. If you want a vehicle to go 150k mi or more Without having to do a lot of maintenance pass on ford. Now if you have to buy a ford I’d buy an edge.keep in mind the edge will go 100 or more mi IF you maintain it well. And I mean oil change every 3k mi regardless of what manual says or even if you’re going to use full synthetic, doesn’t matter. Spark plugs have to be changed ever ... | |||||

| Hello, I'm here bc I love your channel. Been a fan for many years. I have a car problem no mechanic in or outside the dealership has been able to solve. 2013 ford edge Limited Ecoboost 4 cyl The car will randomly die while driving or when stopped. If I Rev the engine it will stay on longer but at slow speeds eventually dies. The dealership replaced the purge valve assembly, the master break cylinder(booster whatever its called), they replaced all the hoses bc I could smell fuel sometimes. The car lasted about 2 months then started doing the same thin ... | |||||

| Sorry to hear that man. I had to sue ford to get them to buy back my 2018 F150. You're not likely to get anywhere with ford customer service. They will just keep telling you, "You don't qualify for a buyback based our criteria." What you want to do is look up your state's Lemon Law and see what the qualifications are. Pay particular attention to how many days it must be out of service and how many repair attempts the dealership gets to remedy the issue. Keep all of your work order copies in a safe place. Once you hit your Lemon Law requirement, contact ... | |||||
| Scotty - thoughts on Ford Edge(s)? | 26Relevance | 4 years ago | Kevan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... people and I hated the ones we had for falling apart at the seams. We now drive a ford and enjoy it - but would you recommend the use of an edge? Is it better to buy "newer" (2014+) or save cost (and maybe not headache) to purchase an older model? Budget is probably around 15-17k but I try to budget 1-2k USD to drop into it for replacement parts and oil changes, etc after purchase.. Is the edge reliable? Supposedly the 2014 was one of the best years but are any of them particularly "lemons" in your experience? | |||||

| Scott my 2008 ford edge sel 2wd. When I drive the suv 1 mile the front brakes get hard and lock up. I replaced the brake booster. Had to disconnect the master to get booster out. Ive bled the brakes, replaced the brake switch and new calipers and rotors and pads. But when they lock up its gradual and then can't push pedal at all and when I release the brake switch the brakes release and the do it again 1 mile later. Is this due to brake pedal rest position cause the brake switch is pushed all the way in at rest position.the new booster came off a 2007 model e ... | |||||

| Well ford is at it again.. Almost half a million ford/Lincoln SUVs are being recalled due to a rear brake hose that is faulty, causing the brake system to lose fluid, and increase stopping distance: thus increasing crash risks. ford claims they don't have a fix, and won't have one until April of next year. Why can't ford figure out how to fix a leaky brake system? Is there one person with brain cells in that company? | |||||

| Hi all, I just wanted to say that ford now has yet another recall, this time for the 2022-2024 edge models and because a glitch in the PCM means that it would potentially throw a code for a Catalytic Convertor/exhaust issue even though there really isn’t one. Dealers are tasked with reprogramming the PCM. Quick and easy fix at the dealer. My vehicle was affected so just wanted to let the car community know. Campaign #24-E09 Additionally, a few days ago, another one was announced. From Yahoo: “Ford is recalling close to 100,000 EcoBoost V6 engines. T ... | |||||
