| Hi Scotty, I am thinking about trading my 2016 Kia Forte in for a nissan frontier 4x4. My wife and I are expecting in June and I would like a roomier car. I was thinking about getting a higher mileage used one from about 2013 to 2017. What do you think about the frontier? Are the good long term trucks? Thanks in advance. | |||||

| The Nissan truck that most directly competes with the Tundra would be the Titan. (The frontier is a more compact truck.) You can visit sites such as carcomplaints.com to find information about failure trends, recalls, and TSBs for particular years and models. | Hello! So my frontier will randomly jerk while driving, and when it does so I will either hear a knock from the rear axle or from both front and rear axle. It's usually hard to replicate the behavior, but it will usually do it a bit softer if I let go of the gas and then press on it. Not sure if it would be related but, sometimes it will randomly turn off when driving/park but it will always start right back up, though I been having a persistent battery corrosion on the positive terminal, not sure if it could be that? All input appreciated 2013 Nissan ... | |||||

| I was gifted a 06 Nissan frontier. Engine and trans have already been swapped. 258k on body. Was told over 100k less on engine and trans. 4.0, automatic. Anyways I was driving it all over just fine. Went and got the tags up to date and all. And had a guy look at it for me. He said the radiator caps weren't on right. I guess one cap is pressurized other isnt. So he swapped em, put one from reservoir onto rad vice versa. And idk if this is what caused the issue or not. But since, I will be driving and I stop, and the reservoir is b ... | |||||

| Scotty: I have been driving Manual transmission vehicles since first getting my license in 1982. As I am getting older and driving in traffic a lot now, I decided to buy an automatic. I just moved from a Toyota Tacoma 6-speed manual to a Nissan frontier 9-speed automatic. It has the semiauto mode where you can manually shift it up or down. Should I use the transmission to help slow the truck down? Is it hard on the transmission? I have been using a lower gear on long down hills rather than running on the brakes. I would like to hear your thoughts on this. B ... | |||||

| Hello, back in May, I bought a used 2022 nissan frontier king cab with 4500 km on it for $44,000 CAD. I messed up, and didn't realize how much I dislike all the new computer technology until meow. Also heard the jatco transmissions have been known to have issues. I just found out my partner's friend is selling their 2009 ford ranger automatic which only has 49000 km on it for $15,000 CAD. Should I buy this, and store it in my garage/yard until I sell the frontier? | |||||

| Hey I'm looking around the $20,000-$24,000 range for a 4runner / Tacoma with a V6 and 4x4. However, I see Nissan frontier with 30-60k miles in the price range as opposed to the Tacoma's / 4runner's with 120-150k miles on them in comparison. The Nissan's also tend to be a few years newer as well. Should I go for the Nissan frontier because of the lower mileage but lower quality or stick to Toyota? | |||||

| I’m looking at getting a new truck and I was looking at either a new Nissan frontier or Tacoma, i test drove a frontier and liked it but i know it’s a direct injection motor and a newly designed truck so there’s not a lot of data on long term reliability, I want this truck to last me for the next 300k miles at least, thoughts? | |||||

| ... a Tacoma although they're quite expensive (about the same as a frontier or a Ranger) or maybe "commercial" GM truck, The Colorado is based on the previous generation Isuzu D-Max. And you can option a 4WD Extended Cab, Long Box with a 4 cylinder (sadly it's a GM engine, not a commercial generator / heavy equipment engine put in a car as Isuzu does) and a 6 speed auto (avoid the 8 speed, they're nightmares - there's currently a class action about it) for under $30k. Maybe other forum members know more about it. BUT at that price you can already get a F- ... | |||||

| If it has to be a truck (and btw, trucks and “good gas mileage” don’t really go together) and a Toyota is too pricey or hard to find, then a reasonable alternative would be a Nissan frontier. See below on years to get: | |||||
