| Answer to: Is it really worth $22,000??!! | 26Relevance | 3 years ago | Hixster | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| It's unrealistic expecting high reliability from a new Hyundai or Kia. The last couple of years we've all grown accustomed to record prices on nice used SUVs, but that's eased a bit recently. $22000 is 4-5k too much, even for a nice 11 year old really Highlander. It's still 11 years old. kbb | |||||

| Honestly, it depends upon where you are geographically located. If you aren’t aware, kbb values change upon the location of where you are. That’s why if you compare a vehicle’s price of the same condition and same mileage, California cars are more expensive then let’s say; North Carolinians Car’s. Car Values Change via your location and so do bank loan valuations. So I’d pull up kbb, and enter your information on there and put the VIN number (request it from the owner) and figure out what’s the “fair” asking price and I would not pay more than the “highest” ... | |||||

| ... really want an RX330, or RX350 because I have always thought they were cool vehicles and a good ole Toyota/Lexus product. Scotty if reading, or someone else who has experience owning, or working on a high mileage RX350. Or a higher Mileage RX330. The first vehicle I like is a 2009 RX350 AWD, with the 3.5L (2GR-FE) under the hood and approx 216k on the clock. CarFax Maintenance records look pretty good and look decent for the age. It's still daily driven till sold, so the good thing is it doesn't sit. It's interior is dirty, but he said he'd get it all de ... | |||||

| Look at the kbb trade in value, NOT the private value. Odds are the real world value of that thing is arond $4500 and I'd start at around there. | |||||

| Your welcome! Also realize that most people would agree with me that the kbb prices are made up the company that owns kbb is a used car seller (according to Scotty) so I would be leary but you didn't get ripped off or anything it is a decent deal so they can be good cars;) | |||||

| kbb is also pretty false if you are using kbb use the trade in value 5.8k is also outragous if I would not be able to get it under 5 grand, i would walk away. 5 grand tops for me. Even that is a lot. Also, if they don't let you have a mechanic check it out before purchase, walk away. Walking away is the solution of many dealerrship scams these days. | |||||

| I am looking at several used cars to replace my current daily driver and wanted to make sure I was not over paying. I’ve always previously used kbb by typing in the year, make, model, vehicle condition, mileage, etc. and it gives me the kbb value, but Scotty is poo-pooing that. What’s the alternative? | |||||

| ... value so long as the generation continues (a couple - few years) but after 4 5 years their value also plummets, and then stays farely level and fluctuates depending on condition and miles as they age into the 10 - 15 - 20 year range. However, some cars like Korean and American brands will depreciate heavily (loose as much as 50% of their value) in 1-2 years, and then depreciate on a leveled basis. Generally speaking, the average car will loose half its value after 3 years, but that changes depending on many factors; most importantly make and class of vehicl ... | |||||

| ... it might have been helpful. Also Edmunds, kbb, etc. tend to have consumer review pages and those are good resources as well. There is this Youtube channel linked below at the bottom (Car Reviews) check "The Topher" out he makes good car reviews. (Keep in midn he doesn't review reliability but other than that its great review not biast like kbb or Autotrader). Definitely stay away from JD power. I like to use US News and World Reports for basic overviews as well, for example if I were to want to learn whether a car was described as: "comfortable ... | |||||
| Answer to: Toyota Yaris , which model is the best to buy ? | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The new ones are made by Mazda in the North American market, years change by market in the US I would recommend the 2018 and before Toyota Yaris (These Ones): NOT this one: If I had to get a Yaris I personally would get one of the last two ones above that are blue, which in the states are the 2015-2018 model years. In the 2019 model year, the Yaris nameplate was changed to the Yaris Sedan name and was a rebadged Mazda (which replaces the 2016 Scion IA, and 2017 Yaris IA). Mazda makes decent cars as well but the Toyota ones last longer. | |||||

| I'd check the kbb trade in value to see what its worth (not private party/dealer bc those are too inflated) So, 2016 Ford Fusion 150k miles, mid trim level, fair condition kbb.com/ford/fusion/2016/se-sedan-4d/?condition=fair&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=150000&modalview=false&options=6399281%7ctrue&pricetype=trade-in&vehicleid=406997 $2500 Now decide, how much is the cost to fix, and is it worth fixing? This is typical with these Fusions. Like Joe said, type Fusion and 2010+ models are plagued with major problems its like we see ... | |||||
