| Since you plan to keep for 20+ years you only have one choice: the Toyota sienna, but as Kerem said get the 2016 or earlier model years that don’t have the 8-speed automatic transmission. Also, that Honda odyssey you mentioned has the 3.5L V6 engine which has cylinder deactivation (or what Honda calls VCM) and over time can potentially wear out/damage your engine. Plus the engine is direct injection only and therefore susceptible to carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves over time - more maintenance and cost you don’t need. | Get the sienna from the later years of what you mentioned. The odyssey had all kinds of transmission and electrical problems especially back then. | |||||

| Hi Scotty and everybody. I am looking for a minivan for hauling stuff and people as I have to move a lot. I also would like to turn it into a simple camper van in the future. | Hands down the Toyota sienna. The Grand Caravans were always junk (they also don't make them anymore). Honda odysseys are good for the first 100k miles or so, but they have weak automatic transmissions. Honda doesn't specialize in trucks and minivans. Toyota does. | |||||

| My wife might agree to a new minivan. I'd rather have a 2020 sienna, but can't find a leftover. I'm not sold on the new hybrid sienna. I'm also not sure about the Honda for the long hall. Although the Honda motor sounds fun. Any suggestions? | |||||

| Hi Scotty, I have a 2014 Toyota sienna with 360k, and am looking at upgrading sometime in the next year or 2 to a new sienna. My 2014 has been fantastic, zero issues with it, but its starting to show its age, and my wife needs a reliable vehicle. I'm wondering what you think of Toyotas quality today vs 12 years ago? Are there any concerns that you would have with the new sienna? If so, what would your recommendation be for a new van? | |||||

| Just picked up a 1992 Toyota Previa, RWD 200k miles for $500 Still runs good and shifts really good No engine lights mainly just needs valve cover and struts and wheel bearings I’m really like this design inside, the big windshield and all is very unique In terms of reliability how would you compare it to a 1st gen Toyota sienna? Trying to decide if I want to fix this up or fix up my sienna. Parts seem much more readily available on the sienna vs the previa. Anyways lmk how you feel 🙂 | |||||
