| 1994 Dakota Random Misfire | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | WillStedman | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty, I got a 94 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2 liter v8 with 280,000 miles. Still runs strong and no major problems except sometimes while driving the engine light will come on and it will start misfiring. I got it scanned with an obd1 scanner and it said cylinder 6 fuel injection circuit misfire, so I replaced the fuel injector and it didn't fix it. Any ideas on what I should check next? I love this truck and want to keep driving it until it blows up. | |||||

| 2000 Dodge Dakota Power Steering noise | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Sentinel | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty! My son has a 2000 Dodge Dakota with a V8 Magnum engine. The previous owner took good care of it so even with 247K miles on it, it runs like a champ, but when we bought it, the power steering moaned and groaned even though there were no signs of air getting in the system, or any leaks. So we replaced the pump, and after a week, it starts up moaning and groaning at every turn but still turns and steers fine. Thinking the pump we got was defective, we got a new one and after a week of no issues, it's started up its noises again. Once again, no bubb ... | |||||

| 08 Dodge Dakota 3.7l random misfire if sits idle for short amount of time | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | dt_gibby | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 2008 dodge Dakota 3.7 liter with an automatic trans that will throw a p0300 or p0305 code and start misfiring if it sits idle for maybe 5 minutes. The misfire will go away if I turn the truck off and back on again and runs normally with no loss of power until the misfire starts when idle. I have changed the spark plugs and coil packs, and ran injector cleaner through a tank of gas with no change. This has been an issue for 2 years that comes and goes and seems to happen more often if the weather is above 80 degrees or below 20 degrees (live in Mi ... | |||||
| '94 Dodge Dakota Intermittent Loss of Power/Backfire | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | ParkerArbu | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello,I've asked a question on multiple forums a few times, so let me make this the best post out of all of them...Recently, I bought a 1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9l v6 with 78,000 miles on it. About every ~60 miles, it seems to lose power while I'm driving. I'm not exactly sure what the correct term is here, but I'll give a better explanation: This happens when the truck is either cold or warm. Could happen 3 miles after the last time it happened... or 150 miles after. It idles fine while this is happening. When I try to put more power into the throttle, the les ... | |||||

| Hey Scotty, my ‘03 Dodge Dakota hisses when I shut it off. Do you know why? | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Josiah_Duff | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| So, this V8 Dakota Quad cab has been alright. I didn’t want a truck but for the price I got it and the miles it had, it was a steal imo. However, for about the past month and a half whenever I get home and shut her off I hear a hissing sound while I’m in the cab for about 10-15 seconds until it stops. Any ideas? Thanks. | |||||

| Is the ticking coming from the engine or the exhaust? My buddy had a Dakota like that and it had an exhaust leak that ticked. I would change the filters - fuel and air. See if that helps anything. Then try more expensive things. | |||||
