| RE: 2011 Nissan Frontier: Is 150 degrees F Too cold for a transmission temp? | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | Nathaniel J. | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey R4nier, I have a question. In your 4.0L V6 did you have a fluctuating idle? Like my Nissan frontier goes from 550-650. And also, isn’t heat the main killer of automatic transmissions? So wouldn’t us running lower tempatire be better for the trans? | |||||

| I have a 2009 Nissan frontier XE, automatic. My mechanic told me it does not have a fuel filter. Is this true? I searched on several auto parts sites and all they show for my vehicle is a 'universal' add on filter. Thanks for your help! | |||||
| 08 Nissan Frontier engine skipping, already replaced plugs. | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | CritJoe | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I've got a 2008 Nissan frontier 4.0 V6, been a great truck almost no problems mechanically with it. Engine started running rough/skipping/shaking the other day, not something subtle, it was very obvious something was wrong. It would do this while running and while idle. Mileage is 199k and some change. I had the spark plugs changed right around 100k back before I did any work on my own vehicle. Figured it was time for a new set of spark plugs and did them myself, replacing the intake manifold gaskets and throttle body gasket when I did (have to remove intak ... | |||||
| buy 2022 Frontier PRO-4X, or payoff leased 2019 Altima SV and get 4wd-capable truck/SUV | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | Deirius | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... that Nissan CVT's are ticking time bombs, even with scheduled maintenance, hence why this was originally started as a lease. I need to have a vehicle with a bit more ground clearance and 4wd moving forward. It doesn't necessarily need to be a daily driver, but something capable and relatively reliable. I am debating if I should just take the hit on a new frontier PRO-4X (even with a 10% dealer premium above sticker), or pay off the Altima lease and pick up an older 4wd truck or SUV like an Xterra to handle my dirt road/small load trailer-pulling needs. | Answer to: Ranger VS Frontier | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | kesterpaul62 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If you're talking about buying brand new, you're in between a rock and a hard place. I wouldn't get the Nissan frontier because it's a new design and we don't know how it will turn out in the next 5+ years. The Ford Ranger with the EcoBoost I4 is also not the best option out there. If you had to choose between the two, lease the Ford Ranger. | |||||

| Saludos cordiales. In Puerto Rico the roads are bumpy and lots of holes. Also once in a while I might used in a hilly terrain. Just to carry small loads or pulling small wagon. Between the Ford Ranger and Nissan frontier which work best. Thinking about smooth ride and gasoline economy. | |||||
| U1000 Code 2011 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 V6 | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | Nathaniel J. | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty, I have a 2011 Nissan frontier 4x4 V6 5spd w/od auto 147K miles. On an all module scan. It shows all codes related with U1000. I know this means failure of CAN Communication Circuit. Than yes, my truck was recently in New Jersey for most of its life. Though i can’t see any particular wire that is corroded. Should I take it to a independent mechanic to check it out? Or can I just leave it alone. I’ve seen many forums where they say you can leave it alone, but just would like to know expert advice from some moderators on the website or Scotty the le ... | |||||
| RE: 2011 Nissan Frontier *ENGINE KNOCKING NOISE* | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The frontier is overall a decent truck but when dealing with any vehicle that age and mileage the way it's been maintained and treated is everything. A lot can happen in 11 years and nearly 150K miles. Hopefully it will work out OK once the timing chain problem is resolved. Let us know how you make out. | |||||

| Yes I know, I made a poor choice. I should’ve listened. I just was in a quick jump to buy a truck. But I am glad I don’t own a horrible Nissan CVT. I looked up the Nissan frontier and Scotty said it would be a good truck to buy, he said it would be his second pick for the midsize segment. His first was obliviously a Toyota Tacoma. But they are so expensive. | |||||
| RE: Nissan Frontier Negative Ignition Timing | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | Nathaniel J. | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Doc, could a bullydog gt tuner preset change the ignition timing? Cause I have that installed on my Nissan frontier. I haven’t changed much besides the idle speed +75 so the engine wouldn’t shake at idle. But then I lowered it back to +0 to see if the delayed ignition timing was just trying to slow down my idle speed, but sadly it didn’t change. Could the tuner be causing the problem? | |||||
