[Solved] 2006 nissan Frontier TPMS won't reset

Can't get the TPMS light to stay off even after replacing all factory sensors and resetting with TPMS tool.  After making sure air pressure was correct and having the system reset (with a dealer type tool) the light came back on solid and stays on after 5-6 miles.

After replacing sensors I attempted manual reset (different tire pressure in each tire and driving), reset with an Ebay TPMS, and a reset at Costco (with their dealer type tool).  Also attempted ECU reset by disconnecting battery for an hour or so.  Nothing works!

06 Nissan Frontier SE Crew 2WD, 88k miles, automatic trans.  No codes; just the TPMS light

You would have to hook up a fancier scan tool (one that can scan ALL the systems on a vehicle), then scan the BCM module and see what it is “seeing” with respect to the tire pressures at all 4 wheels.  On my GM truck, I have the TPMS light always on and confirmed all 4 of my sensors work, that they are programmed correctly to communicate with the BCM, that the BCM TPMS system recognizes them (with correct IDs and tire pressures - confirmed against my analog tire gauge measurements).  Looking at the factory service manual on my truck, it mentioned if the pressures are off by +/- 0.5 psi with respect to each other it can set off the TPMS light - so that’s what it was in my case.  On my truck it doesn’t display the individual tire sensor readings on the user display in front of me (I have to use my fancy scan tool for that) - so I just live with it.  At least my BCM module is OK and no other electrical issues.

That's weird. The tires on my GMC are several lbs off from each other and it never complained.

run a diagnostics using a high level scan tool

Overinflate the tires (put around 40 psi) and see if the light goes away. Do not drive far with that tire pressure though.

Hi level scanner used for the last reset.  Light came back on after 5 miles.  Put black electrical tape over light on dash and problem solved.

Hi level scanner used for the last reset.

We're saying use the tool perform diagnostics to find the source of problem. Not reset the warning. The glowing light is not the problem.
