Hi Scotty I have a 1974 c10 pickup that doesn’t want to start when it’s hot outside I’ve already bought a new battery,starter, and distributor cap but nothing seems to fix it any  insight is welcome

Check and lube the weights under the rotor button. If they are stuck out which I have seen plenty of times it will not turn over fast enough.

Lot of options, way to many, best to check spark first then fuel. Safely spray some starter fluid in carb with help, if it starts quick its a fuel issue. If not it's spark.

@jackofall
Thanks for the help would it be the pull pump or lines?? Or some else that’s pertaining to the fuel

U have to check if there is a fuel filter also. But if it kicks with starter fluid that may show issue. See if there are any rubber line sections. Smell for gas leaks. But the strange this is it runs good when running?

@jackofall
Yes 75 degrees or lower it’s starts up fine no issue but 80 and up it’s dodgy or doesn’t start at all

Again check for spark, take out a plug and ground it to metal, have a friend turn over motor (be careful) see if the plug fires. If not it's a fuel issue. Back to checking fuel delivery also hold plug with rubber pliers tipped, or rubber gloves or you may get shock. If you are not capable take it to small shop, let them check for spark, also harbour freight sells a spark plug checker cheap. No risk.let me know what u find
