I got a 1995 toyota avalon xls with 360k miles on it. The front suspension went out a few months of having it only paid 900 dollars for it. Bought a new alternator for it as well with belts and all the whistles. When it turns it has a grinding noise. Was checking and it could be a number of problems maybe the flaps for the rotors could be bad didn't see much of an issue was thinking it could be the ball ping and sockets needing to be lubircated. Does anyone have any advise on certain areas to check for what the grinding noise can be? Check engine light is on but that's for the egr valve I haven't even wanted to replace since it's going to be a junk daily driver and if it breaks it breaks. Noticed it does have really squishy suspension and you can feel everything on the road. Got an alignment with a tire rotation fixed the issue slightly. Checked the rotors and not warped and the pads seemed to be really good barely had any use at all. And this card has 2 owners the first being the original and then me. It's been well taken care of with a long log book

That’s an old car with lots of mileage. If you want to make it run without issues, you should expect to spend money on it. If the brakes are good, I would take the car to a good alignment shop and have them check the front suspension.

With that mileage, you need a front end shop to get it up in the air and give it a through check. It is likely a combination of worn parts causing the issue.
