Hello Scotty,
Love your video's and thanks for this site!
I just purchased a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab 4x4 Z71 with 160k miles on it. It has the 5.3l motor in it as well. I noticed driving it around the rear of the truck will hit the bump stops on almost every bump in the rode. Not quite every one but decent ones anyways. I can stand on the rear bumper and make it hit the bump stops by bouncing up and down.
It definitely needs new shocks as the ones on it look original. However, I am thinking I may need new leaf springs as well because of how easy they flex with just my weight! What do you think?
Thanks,
-Don
Leaf springs don't usually wear out. You might look into getting some helper springs though rather than just changing them out and the same thing happening.
