Hi Scotty, I have a 2000 Ford Focus SE 2.0L DOHC Sedan with 185,000+ miles on it. I have had some overheating problems on it for some time now. It overheats when it idles for too long or has been running for a long time, and at at stop light it starts to overheat if the engine has been running for a considerable amount of time. I have put the correct amount of 50/50 Antifreeze in it, did a coolant flush, replaced the thermostat. I have to put new coolant in every week or two. What should I do to get rid of the problem? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Imo probably air in system. See if it’s got a bleeder valve on engine (check manual) or follow bleeding air instructions
Get rid of the car.
Honestly, I'm surprised you have gotten that much mileage out of it. But at this point it is going to quickly become more expensive to repair than it is worth.
