Hi Scotty
My buddy Dave asked me to look at his windshield washer pump in his Mercury Villager that quit squirting. I traced the hose to the bottom of the washer reservoir in the right front fender. In the process I discovered he has broken motor mounts. The rubber is gone on all three mounts and the engine is clunking around. He does not think this is serious and figures as long as he takes it easy he can still drive and save some money in the process. I am afraid if one of them should give way he could loose brakes or steering and end up loosing control of the car. At the very least he is stressing the exhaust manifold , wiring and every thing else that is now holding the engine from rolling over.
I found a kit containing all three mounts for $150. How hard are they to change?
As long as you have a lift for the engine I would say the job is medium level.
Do it, they arent that difficult, just depends where they are located. A common car like that probably has a youtube video on it
Watch some youtubes on changing motor mounts on Mercury Villager/Nissan Quest and see if you're comfortable doing the repair
