Hey Scotty, I am a big fan of your channel, always fun to watch your vids and learn cool things about cars. I have a 2000 Avalon, 137K miles, she started shaking and misfiring and I got the codes checked on Autozone and I got the following sequence of codes: P1349/P0300/P0301/P0303/P0305. It says something about the oil control valve of the VVTI. Do you think that's the case? I mean, I change the oil religiously with nice full synthetic oil and good filters and this check light comes and goes and comes back again... What do you say? BTW, I am hailing from the Bay Area in California and I am hoping to fix this car, since cars here seem to cost a fortune... I hope it won't break my bank.
The oil control valve on bank 1 is getting hung up or has failed.
Your Avalon has 2 OCV's. 1 for each cylinder bank.
The fact that you're getting the codes, P0300 (Misfire on multiple cylinders) combined with codes P0301, P0303, and P0305 (misfires on cylinders numbers 1,3, and 5)
tells you that it's the Oil Control Valve for bank 1.
(Bank 1 is the cylinder bank with cylinder #1)
(Bank 2 is the cylinder bank with cylinder #2)
They're really easy to replace.
(plenty of youtubes on it)
Be sure to change your oil when you replace it.
These things fail prematurely if regular oil changes aren't performed. They get crudded up. So change the oil, replace the OCV for Bank 1 and you'll be fine.

Thanks Jack!
