Possible failed fuel pump or clogged fuel filter, but there are quite a few other causes. See the troubleshooting section of the FAQ.

IIRC most Ford products of that era had a fuel cutoff relay in the trunk. was designed to stop fuel in the event of an accident. Take a look under the liner by the wheel wells . Good Luck 🙂

You just commented on @chucktobias's answer. The OP will not see your comment unless he deliberately reads his post again. Please use the text box titled "Your Answer", if you wish to alert them via the bell.

Thank you.

@justin-shepherd I'm pretty sure comments are still notified

I thought it won't alert the OP via the bell unless you deliberately tag them in the comment, like you did to me. I could be wrong, I guess. I've always assumed comments were only for clarifications on something, not actual answers. That would be kinda redundant, wouldn't it? The only advantage to the "Your Answer" would be up and down votes, if that were the case.

@justin-shepherd Of course answers should be entered into the "Your Answer" box. I never claimed otherwise (although I tend not to pester first time posters with niggles like that). I was simply saying that comments are probably notified. I could be wrong. Try it.

Yeah, I was more posting a courtesy notice, if I sounded brisk, sorry about that. I'm really not sure how to comment without a "your answer" already there.

@justin-shepherd I just commented on your very first post in the forum. Did you get a notification?

Yep, I guess it does work. Thank you.

That was back when we allowed comments on the OP questions, at the very top.

You can comment whatever you like if it's a response to the answer.

@imperator I remember that now, we had a hard time with people commenting on an OP instead of using the "Your Answer" function.

PS  Thanks for the advice, this is the first time I had an answer that might be helpful
