Hi Scotty, love your videos, Thanks. What do you think of the Pontiac Aztec (as per Breaking Bad).?! I'm in the UK but my daughter is in Canada and like me, kind of likes the ugliness and is thinking of buying a used one - around 2003, 200,000 kms.

Underappreciated cars in my humble opinion. I love em. Even before breaking bad. They had innovation and they tried a thing. Nowadays every brand wanna have a wannabe sports chic slick car. Kinda boring. The Aztec was wack and I love that.

I feel like they are cheaply made and sort of worthless cars at this point. If she gets it cheap enough and maybe for a grocery getter car it might be alright but I would never buy one as a daily driver.

They look like the bottom of all the GM parts bins got glued together into a Frankenstein's monster. I'm not a fan.

They were kind of a failure car for GM.

The Pontiac Aztek was GM's attempt to appeal to the youth outdoorsy market in the early 2000's.

It fell flat, because of the failed attempt at styling. While I personally think it looks great, the general public didn't think so. The Aztek's platform partner, the Buick Rendevous, sold 3x as well.

The 3.4L V6 (my namesake) had a few issues with head gaskets, and there were a few electrical issues, but otherwise those are reasonable cars.

The modern market is dominated by ridiculously styled crossovers now. The Aztek was ahead of its time. Take that and release it now with an electric motor and you've got a bestseller.

Get it inspected by a mechanic, and make sure to do a head gasket test before you buy it.

If there are any signs of a dying electrical system, don't buy it! Those things go downhill quickly (I speak from experience)!

But it could be an OK vehicle, and it does have a tent.
