Hello, I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla S with 94,700 miles, automatic transmission, and I got a check engine light code P0471 could it be the transmission shift solenoid? and also why does this car stall after changing gears it doesn't do this all the time only once in a while but today it was the 5th time that it did it and twice today what could cause that and how can I fix it?
something I probably should mention about the solenoid is that 2 years ago I got that same code in this same vehicle I changed the ECT at the time and the check engine light turned off for a day after changing it but turned back on a day later then I changed the transmission shift solenoid and it turned off completely for a good, 2 years later it turned back on...Do you think it could probably be the solenoid again?
Yes. Was the shift solenoid you changed OEM or after market?
It was aftermarket
Some vehicles are sensitive and will only work properly with the OEM part.
P0471 has nothing to do with transmissions.
It's an exhaust pressure problem with turbocharged engines.
Maybe you mean P0741, which related to the torque converter?
It's still not related to shift solenoids. Clutch solenoid maybe.
