hey scotty i have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 283k miles on it. and recently when i go to fill up for gas, the gas pump keeps shutting off ones it hits the half way mark on the fuel gage. but it's no where near full. so i can only put about 20$ worth of gas before it shuts off. i've tryed diffrent gas stations with the same result.  it just wont let me put anymore gas in the truck. what could be the problem?? thank-you for your time.

There is a vent that is on your gas tank that is stuck closed. It lets the air out while fueling up so it can flow in faster and makes the pump stop when it fills up.
