Hi all! I was just peeping again for cars and I saw this 06 Civic 176k miles for $1000 but there's a rear end collision. I know Scotty has mentioned it's better to not have a front end collision because the engine, radiator, etc. are there. Would a rear end collision be of a concern with functionality or just no trunk access?
While front end collisions of equal force would damage more, and more expensive things, there are a LOT of things that could need to be fixed in a rear-end collision: gas tank, gas filler, vapor recovery system, lights, electrical connections, brake lines, suspension, spare tire access and 20 other things.. Folks always recommend a careful evaluation by a a qualified mechanic before purchase - it is WAY more important if there is obvious collision damage.
That price sounds like a "sold for parts" price, given the current used car market.
