I have a 2006 Dodge Durango 5.7L Hemi with 220,000 Kms, that was working fine; no dash light warnings. Vehicle wouldn't start an hour after I returned from driving it. Engine tries to start but doesn't engage.
I've tried boosting the car but it still doesn't start. Dash shows I still have 1/4 tank of gas available.
Battery maintains 12.6 volts when charged; new alternator installed 2 years ago. When I turn the key in the ignition, but not enough to start it, I hear a whirring sound (assuming it's the fuel pump), and a series of clicking sounds from the engine for a few seconds. Tested the fuel pressure on the fuel rail and there was no pressure at all.
Now the engine light is lit up in the dash.
Used my Genisys code reader and pulled the following codes:
- P0700 Transmission Control System (Malfunction Indicator Lamp Request) under Primary System Engine/PCM heading,
- P0700 & P0562D (System Voltage Low) under Secondary System Global OBDII
- P0562 (Battery Voltage Low) under Secondary System Transmission
- B210D (Battery Voltage Low) under Secondary System FCM Central Gateway
- B210DB (Battery Voltage Low) and several other misc. codes under Secondary System Occupant Restraint CTRL
- B210D (Battery Voltage Low) under Secondary System Wireless CTRL Module
- B210D (Battery Voltage Low) and other codes under Secondary System Heated Seat Module.
Could this be an electrical system issue? The battery is charged and maintains charge overnight, battery terminals are clean, fuses and relays appear okay.
Any assistance you can provide is pointing me towards what i need to look at to fix this issue is greatly appreciated!
With all their codes I can just about guarantee you have an electrical failure somewhere. Pray it's not the computer itself feeling as they are very hard to diagnose have a pro at least
