I have a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL 3.0 V6 6 Speed Automatic 82,000. I recently had a remained Ford transmission put into the car. Ever since then with the new transmission was placed in the car every time I turn the steering wheel there is a popping sound that sounds like it's coming from the center of the car between the two front wheels. It does not matter which way the wheel turns it makes the popping noise.

stick your head underneath with a flashlight while a helper turns the steering wheel
