I'm looking at a couple of used cars, a 2006 Honda element ex manual trans 4wd with 150,000 miles $5000, and a 2008 Scion xb with manual trans 100,000 miles for about $5500. Haven't driven either of these cars in years, but remember liking both models. Opinions on reliability, driveability, fun, comfort, better buy? Thanks!
I would get the Honda Element hands down. They are very reliable and pretty fun to drive with Honda's awesome manual transmission - 4WD is also a nice bonus. It is the better option in terms overall reliability, fun factor, and comfort. Try to pay less for the Element since it has 150K miles. If you can get it for $4,000 or less, that would be a pretty good buy.
I'd get the Element because the Scion had major problems

The engines burned oil A LOT and the engines end up seazing this is 2008-2009 models.
