2007 Honda CB900F 919

100,000 miles all highway 45 mph -60 mph. Oil Changed with Mobil 1 every 3-5k.

Under bucket shim valves. Owner’s manual say have them inspected/adjusted if necessary every 20k.

I have never taken to any mechanic for any reason, I am only person to every ride the bike. Yesterday at 100k I take in into the local Dealer they charge me $600 to inspect the valves and tell me all 16 valves are withing spec no adjustment necessary.

Do you think a bike that the manufacturer recommends every 20k could go 100k and still be in adjustment or did I get duped? I have a feeling they didn't even open it up and just charged me $600

It definitely needs valve adjustment. You might try yourself and adjust the valves. Although, if I were you, I would take it to another dealer and have them do the job and get my money back from the first dealer.

I guess you didn't read the post, I DID TAKE IT TO THE HONDA DEALER, after bending me over for $600 , they said vales are in spec at 100k miles

bend over for another 600?

I read your post. That’s why I said go to another dealer and have them do the job.

Crazy! Sounds like you take extremely great care of the bike and maintanence. Unless the valves were getting super noisey or you saw some performance issue I would leave alone. Loose is always better than tight!

Motorcycles need valve adjustment for their peak performance and gas mileage.
