hello, I have a 2007 lexus gs350 AWD, with 130,000 milies on it, i purchased it around a year ago and put about 10,000 miles and everything has been running fine, but i live in toronto canada, and i noticed when it is very cold outside the engine revs a bit high on idle, which i think is normal to warm up the engine, but i noticed when the engine is very cold in the winter sometimes the trasnmission feels a bit wierd, like it might downshift earlier, and i think a couple times it may have slipped. after driving for 10 minutes and the engine warms up, i see the car idle at a much lower RPM and then it runs perfectly fine, its only for the first maybe 10 min on a very cold day i feel transmission acts a bit funny, i dont know if the trasnmission fuild has ever been changed, and i wanted to know if it would be a good idea to change the fluids. thank you.

completely normal. Just like an engine, the transmission needs to warm up to work properly.

I wouldn't worry about it.
i wanted to know if it would be a good idea to change the fluids
we have an article which answers that in the FAQ
Sign up on the lexus website, add your vehicle and you may find service records for your car, including the transmission.
I will say that newer synthetic transmission fluids work better at colder and hotter temperatures. My 1998 4Runner would act much like yours in cold weather. I switched the fluid out for Amsoil synthetic and it shifted significantly better when cold, and hot.
Also You may want to clean your throttle body, it may be sticking a bit and causing the higher idle.
